כן, וזו התקרה המעשית: הרשויות האמריקאיות מנסחות כלל אצבע של עד 90 יום אספקה לשימוש אישי — "A rule of thumb: Bring no more than a 90-day supply of medication" (CBP).

CBP: "Be aware that possession of certain substances may also violate state laws" — 50 מדינות, 50 חוקים, ואין לנו מיפוי שלהם

Whether you are a U.S. citizen returning from travel outside the country or a foreign national temporarily visiting the United States, if you are traveling with any Prescription (Rx) or Over-The-Counter (OTC) medications, you will need to comply with the laws and regulations enforced by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). If the medication is also a Controlled Substance, you will also need to comply with the requirements of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
For non-U.S. citizens temporarily visiting the United States, you may be allowed to travel with your own medications. In general, you should have with you a valid prescription or doctor's note—written in English—to bring medication to the United States.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
The medication should be in its original container with the doctor's instructions printed on the bottle. If you don't have the original container, bring a copy of your prescription or a letter from your doctor explaining your condition and why you need this medication. Travel with no more than you need for your personal use during your stay. A rule of thumb: Bring no more than a 90-day supply of medication.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
The FDA will allow foreign nationals to bring or ship a 90-day supply of drug products. If the foreign national is staying longer than 90 days, they may have additional medication sent to them.https://www.fda.gov/industry/import-basics/personal-importation
Note: Only medications that can be legally prescribed in the United States may be imported for personal use. Be aware that possession of certain substances may also violate state laws.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
All passenger items must undergo security screening. It is recommended that medication be clearly labeled to facilitate the screening process.https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/i-am-traveling-medication-are-there-any-requirements-i-should-be
Some medications are also controlled substances. The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will generally make the decision on whether controlled substances are allowed to be imported for personal use. For those controlled substances that fall under the jurisdiction of both DEA and FDA, the two agencies will coordinate when determining the admissibility of the product.https://www.fda.gov/industry/import-basics/personal-importation

(c) In addition to (and not in lieu of) the foregoing requirements of this section, a United States resident may import into the United States no more than 50 dosage units combined of all such controlled substances in the individual's possession that were obtained abroad for personal medical use. (For purposes of this section, a United States resident is a person whose residence (i.e., place of general abode—meaning one's principal, actual dwelling place in fact, without regard to intent) is in the United States.) U.S. residents entering the United States at international land borders who are carrying a validly obtained controlled substance (other than narcotics such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, or LSD), are subject to certain additional requirements. If a U.S. resident wants to bring in a controlled substance (other than narcotics such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, or LSD) but does not have a prescription for the substance issued by a U.S.-licensed practitioner (e.g., physician, dentist, etc.) who is registered with, and authorized by DEA to prescribe the medication. The individual may not import more than 50 dosage units of the medication into the United States.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
If you need medicines that contain potentially addictive drugs or narcotics (e.g., some cough medicines, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, antidepressants, or stimulants), do the following: Declare all drugs, medicinal, and similar products to the appropriate CBP official; Carry such substances in their original containers; Carry only the quantity of such substances that a person with that condition (e.g., chronic pain) would normally carry for his/her personal use; and Carry a prescription or written statement from your physician that the substances are being used under a doctor's supervision and that they are necessary for your physical well being while traveling.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
Narcotics and certain other drugs with a high potential for abuse - Rohypnol, GHB and Fen-Phen, to name a few - may not be brought into the United States, and there are severe penalties for trying to do so. While these drugs or devices may be legal somewhere else, if the FDA has not approved them for use in the United States, they may not legally enter the country and will be confiscated, even if they are prescribed by a foreign physician.https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1444?language=en_US
