ההנחה היא ש"בלי מרשם" פירושו "בלי בעיה". היא לא מוזכרת במפורש בשום מדריך, כי היא לא צריכה — היא מובנת מאליה. תרופת שפעת שנמכרת בישראל על המדף לא נתפסת בכלל כתרופה שצריך לחשוב עליה.
